Update – A request for those attending tonight’s graduation ceremonies: There are limited spaces for those in wheelchairs, so we ask that those who are able move into the bleachers once they arrive. There are some chairs around the top of the arena; please reserve them for those whose handicap prevents them from using bleacher seats.
All guests entering the arena will need to have a ticket (except for children under age 5 who will sit on an adult’s lap).
Dear Panther Community:
As we prepare to celebrate the successes of the graduating class of 2018, we have had to make some difficult choices concerning the graduation ceremony. Due to the recent high volume of rain and the forecasts for Thursday and Friday, the field conditions and environmental conditions are not conducive for an outdoor ceremony. To ensure the safety of our graduates and families and to ensure a timely graduation ceremony, the decision has been made to move this year’s graduation indoors. The ceremony will be held in the JCCHS Gymnasium on campus at 8:00 PM on Thursday, May 24, 2018. Because of the limited seating capacity of the gym, this year’s ceremony will now be a ticketed event. Each graduate will receive six tickets at graduation practice on Thursday morning. The doors to the gym will be opened at 7:00 PM to admit guests with tickets. Graduation will also be broadcast live on the Internet and will be shown live on campus in the auditorium and the cafeteria. Thank you in advance for your understanding and flexibility. Please know that every effort is being made to make this a special evening for all of our graduates, despite the weather challenges.
We will use the district’s YouTube channel to broadcast the Live stream and will post a direct link to the feed once the ceremony begins tomorrow night. For your convenience, here’s a link to the YouTube channel we will be using. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdpgkrPkP2PRamYi0kwfpqw
