Jackson County FFA members exhibited livestock at the Gwinnett County Fair beginning with the market goat show September 13 and ending Sunday, September 23 with the market hog show. Below are some of the results of a great two weeks around the showring!
Cody Shattles placed 4th and 5th in the weight class with his 103-pound wether in the market goat show.
Madyson McDaniel placed 1st in 10th-grade Showmanship with her beef cattle project.
Abigail Allen placed 3rd in 11th-grade showmanship and placed 1st in Class and won Reserve Champion.
Peyton Puckett placed 1st in 12th-grade showmanship, placed 2nd in class 3, 1st in class 4 with her percent Simmental and 1st in class 7 with her purebred Simmental, placed 1st with her purebred Simmental and won Grand Champion Pure Bred Simmental.
Charlie Brooksher placed 3rd in 10th-grade showmanship with his beef project and placed 4th in class with his Angus heifer.
Josh Franklin won 9th-grade showmanship, placed 1st in class 3 and won reserve champion honors with his commercial heifer project.
Livestock Evaluation Team won the livestock judging contest hosted by the Gwinnett County Fair. Team members were Hannah White, Peyton Puckett, Savannah Page.
Savannah Page placed 1st in class 6 steers.
Savannah Page placed 2nd in 9th-grade swine showmanship, won class 13th with her purebred Yorkshire swine project and won Grand Champion honors at the show. She also earned Supreme Overall honors in the commercial breeding gilt show.
