Alternative dates for graduation ceremonies have been announced, just in case we are not able to honor the members of the Class of 2020 as scheduled in May because of efforts to slow the spread of the coronavirus that causes COVID-19.
Jackson County Comprehensive High School — if ceremonies can’t be held as scheduled Friday, May 22, at 8 PM, we’ll go to Friday, June 12, at 8 PM; and if that doesn’t work, Friday, July 17, at 8 PM.
East Jackson Comprehensive High School — if ceremonies can’t be held as scheduled Thursday, May 21, at 8 PM, we’ll go to Saturday, June 13, at 8 AM; and if that doesn’t work, Saturday, July 18, at 8 AM.
As Dr. April Howard, our superintendent, has said, we know the uncertainty is far from ideal — and our biggest hope is that we will be able to hold to the original schedule — but we want families to be able to plan around specific dates as they make other decisions/arrangements.
We hope all our graduates know how much our whole community wants to celebrate this important milestone with them in an incredibly challenging and unique year!
