Welcome to the new website for Jackson County Comprehensive High School!
We know this is a big change from our previous efforts, so here are some things to watch for and a roadmap of sorts:
Clicking on text in gold will link you to information elsewhere on our site, to one of our other school sites, or to a site outside our domain.
The easiest way to find information is to use the SEARCH function, available from a link at the far right of the top menu bar that shows up on every page. Enter words related to your topic and press ENTER to get a list of likely resources.
The HOME PAGE features a menu across the top; an alert box at left, which will be used to promote short-term, time-sensitive announcements; and a list of the most recent posts to the website. It also presents the JCSS mission and vision and photos from our school and from across our school system.
The top menu bar has tabs for the following pages and subpages:
OUR DISTRICT – This tab will take you to the Jackson County School System website. Its structure follows the organization of our school system around administration, human resources, teaching and learning, and operations. In addition to an overview and general information, biographies of our leaders and links pages for each department are presented. There also are links to the organization charts for our school system.
OUR SCHOOL – Find an overview of Jackson County Comprehensive High School, our Principal’s Welcome, and administrators’ biographical information here.
OUR STAFF – This directory of the JCSS faculty and staff can be sorted by name, school/facility, position (i.e., teacher, registrar); and department (i.e., kindergarten, foreign language; transportation). It provides contact information, and it also lists available teachers’ websites. TO SEE JUST JCCHS STAFF, type JCCHS in the search-and-filter box on the right, just above the data columns..
LATEST NEWS – This page provides the most recent posts to the website that supplement the information provided on individual website pages, as well as news releases and other announcements. It is presented in date order, with the most recent post listed first, and it can be sorted by category.
CALENDARS – This page presents our JCCHS calendar of activities. At the top of the page are links to a one-page version of the current school-year calendar and to the Master Calendar of all public activities across the school system, including activities specific to the Jackson County School System (i.e., Board of Education work sessions and meetings, and district-wide events). On that JCSS Master Calendar page, you can click the various school calendars off and on to see just those you are interested in or leave them all selected to get a view of what is going on across the district on any given day — there are instructions at the top of that page.
FORMS – This is a collection point for forms that are used at WJES. There also is a link to forms used across our district, providing a place to view online (or download and print) forms for registration, special education, etc.
CONTACT US – This page has our school contact information and directions to our location in Hoschton.
In the middle of the HOME PAGE, you will find quick links for students and parents. These include links to school news, menus, Infinite Campus (our student information system), SchoolPay (our vendor for online payments), and more.
Below that, shortened versions of our School Calendar and Twitter and Facebook feeds are displayed, followed by icons that are quick links to information about updating your contact information, finding your bus stop and times, watching live or archived meetings of our Board of Education (and seeing other videos about JCSS and our schools), and logging into to SchoolPay, our online payment system for student meals and more.
An interactive Google map is next, marked with the locations of each our our facilities — click on the “pin” and you’ll get a pop-up about that school (watch for video coming later this year!).
At the bottom of the page, additional contact information is listed, and at the bottom of every page, you’ll also find a sitemap and a link that will translate much of the text on our website to the languages of record in the JCSS student population.
